Worst Service Ever
Deciding to eat out with family one day for leisure, we (my family and I) chose a nearby family-owned restaurant, since my mom was crazy about their soups. The food was delicious, it was too bad we had limits in our stomachs or else we would have kept making them richer.
That aside, it was a problem trying to get the waitress' attention, or we would get her attention, but she would just pretend not to see us. When we finally called her over, she would bluntly take our requests for extra napkins, or water, and leave -- only to return with a somewhat irritated attitude. The atmosphere in that (unnamed) place was so thick I thought I would choke.
Needless to say, we never went back. There was no point in complaining to the owner of that place, since the people working there all seemed like a stuck up family.
Over-Generous Service?
When you eat out you want to eat without feeling pressured, get the food you ordered without worrying for poison (I can't say much for the previous place), and not be ridiculously over-priced.
Steering clear of that other place, we went to a completely new one. We went in half-starved and were immediately noticed and sat down. As the waitress brought us to our table she almost lost us in pleasant conversation. If it wasn't for another waiter she saw that pasted her, I wonder if she would have kept talking to us.
That same waitress brought over our server and introduced her. At least, I thought she was our server. The waitress who brought us to our table kept coming back to check on us (just before our actual server would) and give us anything we needed -- with the occasional small talk and jokes. Our server was only able to take our orders and bring us water, since the waitress beat her to it.
I don't think our waitress was supposed to bring us our food and the other things we asked for, but after we were done we had to give two tips.
